The Sweetest Punch Soup


1 large butternut squash
1 sweet potato
1 large white onion
1 tablespoon of tomato puree
Pinch of salt and coarse black pepper
2 vegetable stock cubes (1 ½ pints of water)
2 teaspoons Twisted 7 Sweet Jala’loo-ya sauce



  1. Peel and roughly chop the squash, potato and onion and throw in to a large saucepan. Add a small splash of water, a pinch of salt & pepper and then sweat the vegetables for about 5 minutes
  2. Add the tomato puree and stir in. Add the stock to the pan and bring to the boil. Add 1 teaspoon of Sweet Jala’loo-ya sauce and stir
  3. Cover and leave to simmer for 15-20 minutes or until all vegetables are soft. After 10 minutes stir in another ½ teaspoon of Sweet Jala’loo-ya sauce, stir and cover for another 5-10 minutes
  4. Blend everything together in a liquidiser/food processor and taste add more seasoning if required. If you want a bit more kick, add the final ½ teaspoon of Sweet Jala’loo-ya sauce, stir in and serve
